WWE Star Absent From Live Events After Recent Injury Scare

Injuries can happen to anyone at any time, but potentially happening to one star right before WWE WrestleMania 40 next month is never a good thing.

Asuka has been one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions with Kabuki Warriors partner Kairi Sane since January. However, Asuka missed WWE’s house shows over the weekend, leading to concern among fans after seeing her limp during the closing moments of SmackDown.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles have been cursed in recent years due to stars being sidelined with injuries. She has been active on the live event loops, with her most recent bout happening on March 10th, where she has been teaming with Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Kairi Sane in losses to Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Zelina Vega.

However, Asuka didn’t work this past weekend’s shows in Augusta and North Charleston as Sane and SKY teamed together to put over Belair and Naomi. There has been no official confirmation on Asuka’s status.

As seen below, it appears Asuka suffered a leg injury in the main event segment of Friday’s SmackDown during a Damage CTRL beatdown of Bayley. It could be a case of Asuka simply selling and she had scheduled time off. Check it out for yourself:
