Paul Heyman Will Be Inducted Into 2024 WWE Hall Of Fame

Paul Heyman will be taking his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and doing it in Philadelphia, the iconic home of ECW.

Announcement

The AP broke the news on Monday, announcing Heyman as the first member of the honorary class. The ceremony will take place following SmackDown on April 5th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, on WrestleMania weekend.

“I consistently feel like I’m just getting started, and I’m just figuring this out,” Heyman said. “To me, what is an incomplete body of work, because there’s still things I want to accomplish, I never felt comfortable accepting that is a reflection upon an entire career.”

Legacy

Heyman started in wrestling in the 1970s by being a photograher in WWWF for Vince McMahon Sr. He later transitioned into being a manager in WCW before taking over the book for ECW in the mid-90s.

While in charge of ECW and later owning it, he changed the wrestling business with an ediger product, giving way to countless wrestlers, some of whom became big time stars such as Steve Austin. The brand closed in 2001, where he went to work as an on-screen talent and part of the creative team. He left in 2006 before returning in 2012 to be Brock Lesnar’s advocate. For the past few years, he has been aligned with The Bloodline, helping reinvent Roman Reigns’ career in 2020 as his Wiseman.
