Lance Anoa’i: Cody Rhodes Isn’t Going To Finish His Story at WrestleMania

In an exclusive for WrestlingNews.co, Steve Fall interviewed Lance Anoa’i. Lance talked about Tama Tonga signing with WWE, what he’s currently doing in wrestling, Nia Jax, his beef with Drew McIntyre and more. The full interview is below.

On fans online suggesting that Jey Uso form his own Bloodline and Lance be part of it:

“I would definitely enjoy that, especially being in the ring with Solo again. I worked him on the independent scene. Especially Jimmy, Roman, man, like that’s the top guys in WWE. So that’s who you want to be able to get in the ring with right away. And I think it’s a huge stepping stone, not just because we’re family. But man, that’s why I think Solo is having so much success. He got called up from NXT. And look who he was put with — Paul Heyman, Roman, his brothers. And man, it’s just a learning experience for him. And he’s learning from the best in the business.”

“Man, I hope they got big plans for Solo. But I would love to see Jacob [Fatu] come in. And I would love to see Jacob and Solo go at it. Anywhere, man. You know, I think Solo is well deserved of how far he has come. You know, he went from playing football to training in LA where his father and my uncle Reno man, so right to NXT. Like, and he’s not stopping man. And like I keep saying he’s learning from the best.”

Lance’s prediction on Jimmy vs. Jey Uso at WrestleMania XL:

“Growing up as kids, man, if you have a brother or any kind of sibling, you’re both wrestling, that is a dream to just, you’re not wrestling on Raw or SmackDown, or any live event man. You’re going to the biggest stage of all WrestleMania, Super Bowl of professional wrestler, and to do it with your own blood, your twin brother. Man, that gotta be huge. And I hope everything is set up perfect for them. So they could just rock Philadelphia man, and I would love to be there and be a part of it and just watch it live….I want to go with Jey but I think Jimmy somehow gonna pull it off. You know, he’s the older brother. He got Solo on his side. So yeah, I think Jimmy takes it if this match happens.”

On Cody Rhodes getting his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL:

“Yes, Cody deserves it. You know he went in, he won the Rumble. That’s the point of winning the Rumble. You pick who you want and who you go after. And I think if The Rock really wanted it, he should have entered at number 30, thrown everybody out including Cody and he should have won it. Now was that the whole plan to begin with Cody winning? I don’t know…I thought the whole setup was gonna be CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, Rock and Roman, which I believe I wanted to see, you know, everybody wants to see the family vs. family. But I also love as you would call it, the Hollywood Rock. I’ll definitely take that. Is there going to be a turn? Man who knows? But I believe the fans, the Cody crybabies really changed things, everybody’s mind because The Rock man. I was looking just on the follower wise. I believe Cody has like 3 million followers on social media or something like that. And compared to The Rock it was like almost at 30. It’s just a huge difference. Man just like Taylor Swift in the NFL. She brought the eyes of her audience to the NFL who she has, like 300 million followers. So I believe it’s just the audience and who wouldn’t want to see The Rock get back in the ring one more time, especially at WrestleMania against his own blood.”

Lance says Cody won’t finish his story this year:

“I told you, man, no story is finishing. Everybody’s gonna say ‘I’m not watching the product no more and Cody deserves it.’ Well, yeah, we’ll see you the next night on Monday Night Raw.”

Lance on his dream WrestleMania scenario:

“My dream WrestleMania entrance is all of us showing up on stage for Wrestlemania. I think it would have been awesome especially if it was Rock and Roman and we’re just there almost how like just all of us forming two giant lines all the way down the ramp as they walk between us.”
