Matt Riddle and Nick Nemeth Win Gold At NJPW New Beginning In Sapporo

NJPW held its latest big event on Friday morning in the way of New Beginning in Sapporo where former WWE stars Matt Riddle and Nick Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) were in action. Both wrestlers were let go by WWE due to budget cuts last September.

Riddle won the NJPW World TV Title by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi. The finish saw Riddle hit the BroDerek for the victory.

This marked his first reign as NJPW World TV Champion, ending Tanashi’s reign at 50 days. He previously won it at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 and made one successful title defense.

Also, Nemeth won gold, where he captured the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title in the main event by going over David Finlay. The finish saw Nemeth hit a superkick, followed by the Danger Zone (Zig Zag).

Nemeth stated after the match that he would defend the title against anyone. Finlay previously won the title in a triple threat match that included Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley at Wrestle Kingdom 18.
