WWE Is Seemingly Moving Forward With “WWE Speed” Concept

WWE has filed for another trademark for a new show that appears to be coming soon.

The show

In December, before an episode of SmackDown, WWE taped a few matches under the “WWE Speed” banner where they were booked for five minutes, including Bronson Reed defeating NXT’s Nathan Frazier and Cedric Alexander defeating Axiom.

They had Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick on commentary for the show, where WWE had a “WWE Speed” graphic and a countdown timer for each match. Wrestlers from all brands were featured, which was also displayed on the LED boards around the ring.

At the time, WWE filed to trademark the name of the show under entertainment services, with it being reported that the company was shopping it around to networks, although it was noted it could be a digital show, something WWE did years ago on Facebook with “Mixed Match Challenge.”

Trademark

On February 7, the company filed to trademark “WWE Speed” for entertainment services with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. WWE previously filed for it on December 17. Here is the description for the term:

“Mark For: WWE SPEED™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of production, exhibition and distribution of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of wrestling information.”
