There Has Been Talk of Talent From Another Promotion Being Used at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door

The third annual AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view has not been announced for this year, but it is expected to take place, and in 2024, a change could be made.

The event typically takes place in June. Last year’s show pulled in a gate of $1.2 million with 13,600 fans in attendance and 13,100 paid.

The show was highly praised thanks to several matches, including Will Ospreay beating Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Title and Bryan Danielson defeating Kazuchika Okada in the main event.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted having CMLL talent on the card for the upcoming pay-per-view event is “absolutely being talked about.”

As of late, AEW has been using CMLL talent on television. Mistico, Volador Jr, Mascara Dorada & Hechicero vs. Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Matt Sydal & Christopher Daniels was booked last week on Rampage while Bryan Danielson vs. Hechicero took place on Collision.

Jon Moxley, Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mistico, Volador Jr. & Hechicero is set for this Wednesday’s Dynamite.
