Cody Rhodes has weighed in on the speculation of what WWE may do with WrestleMania if they’re able to book The Rock for the show.
Possible plans
Although there has been the belief that the top match at WWE WrestleMania 40 would be Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, if WWE can get Rock to wrestle his cousin, then they may go in that direction. After his loss to Reigns at WrestleMania 39, Rhodes has been talking about completing his story at the upcoming event.
If The Rock will do the match with Reigns, Rhodes may not be able to complete his story at all of winning a world title in WWE as there’s also CM Punk vs. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins as the other reported top match on the card.
Will it existence
While speaking with Bleacher Report, Rhodes was asked about the possibility of WWE going with Rock vs. Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
“You mentioned ‘The Great One,’ The Rock, nothing but respect for him. I went and saw ‘Jungle Cruise,’ I’m a Rock fan. I don’t think he’s the type that would come in and meddle with a story that’s been being told over the past two years. I think he’s probably up to something else, but you never know with WWE. I’ll be watching just like everybody else when I’m not wrestling.”
Rhodes noted that anyone who has been watching the story knows who he will challenge at WrestleMania should he win the Royal Rumble.
