CM Punk has been added to another WWE event as the company gets closer to the most important time of the year, WrestleMania season.
The return
Following CM Punk’s WWE return at Survivor Series, he has made appearances for all WWE brands (Raw, NXT, and SmackDown). He has already confirmed he will be in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match this Saturday, where he will compete against the likes of Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
The company also booked Punk for house shows last month, where he wrestled Dominik Mysterio at Madison Square Garden and Inglewood, CA. Punk was at the January 8th Raw in Portland, Oregon, and is returning to Raw for tonight’s show in New Orleans, where he will have a face-to-face segment with Cody Rhodes.
Booking
Before World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins went down with a knee injury, Punk was reportedly slated to challenge Rollins for the title at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia this April. Punk is expected to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match and is the betting favorite to do so.
Now, WWE’s website is advertising Punk for next week’s episode of Raw, the January 30th post-Royal Rumble edition in Tampa. WWE has already confirmed he will be appearing at the Elimination Chamber PLE next month. No other appearances have been announced.
