Although Mercedes Mone is expected to join AEW in the near future, fans have been wanting to know exactly when it will be happening.
Past talks
All Elite Wrestling and WWE have been in the running to land Mone for a while now. WWE was in talks with Mone about returning, but talks broke down. WWE sources claimed that they were the ones to walk away from the negotiations as they were far apart on money. Mone is expected to make her AEW debut soon.
As previously reported, Mone’s arrival in AEW is imminent, although exactly when has been unclear as it’s unknown whether she’s been medically cleared after getting surgery on a broken ankle last year.
The expectation
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that once Mone finishes up acting commitments, the explication is she will make her debut with All Elite Wrestling.
Meltzer wrote, “Mone hasn’t returned and even with all the AEW rumors (and there is expectation in AEW that she’ll be in after finishing up some acting commitments this month), nothing is for certain and some in WWE believe there is still a shot for her in the Royal Rumble.”
