Fans were close to seeing Mercedes Mone, aka Sasha Banks, make a return to WWE this year, but things didn’t work out. Despite being outside of the WWE bubble, Bayley has been at Mone’s side throughout her journey from NJPW and is now believed to be AEW.
Their connection
Bayley and Mone will always be linked to each other as they’re members of the Four Horsewomen of WWE, had memorable matches against each other, and successful runs as a tag team.
WWE was in talks with Mone about returning, but talks broke down. WWE sources claimed that they were the ones to walk away from the negotiations as they were far apart on money. Mone is expected to make her AEW debut soon.
The future
While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Bayley spoke about Mone while reflecting on their classic NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn match in 2015.
“We’ll always be destined for one more match,” said Bayley before adding, “We’re going to live on forever because of that match, and it’s something we can carry on forever.”
Last week, Bayley attended a red-carpet premiere for the upcoming film, “Self Reliance” with Mone and with her at TNA Hard to Kill to see Trinity wrestle.
