Nia Jax did an interview segment with Michael Cole tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw and she talked about her plans for the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Jax threatened to knock out Cole and it’s very clear that there are no plans for her to turn babyface anytime soon but it looks like we could see the turn of another top star soon or perhaps in the next few months.
WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley walked out to the ring to confront Jax and she got a big babyface pop from the fans. Scroll down to see the video of the crowd reaction during her entrance. It was not a usual confrontation because Ripley and Jax are both slotted on the heel side but the company had to know that Ripley would be cheered as she’s been getting cheered at the live events. Ripley acknowledged the reaction from the fans and she was not heelish towards them in any way.
There’s been ongoing tension between The Judgment Day in recent months that is brought up on some weeks and a babyface turn for Ripley seems like the next logical step for her character since she’s so popular.
WWE has been taking their time with the Judgment Day issues so we might have to wait until after WrestleMania to see that storyline conclude with Ripley’s face turn. Tonight on Raw, it was teased that Jax vs. Ripley might be the next Women’s World Title program after the Royal Rumble.
