In recent months, WWE has been working on getting several of their top talent signed to new deals because they don’t want to lose these stars to free agency.
Among those that have reportedly re-signed include Rey and Dominik Mysterio, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley. WWE is also reportedly working on extending Cody Rhodes’ contract and it’s said to be a big priority.
Fightful Select is reporting people in the industry expect that Rhodes will get a “sizeable raise” whenever the deal is done and that the contract is a priority for TKO, WWE’s parent company. There is confidence among people in the company that a deal will get done eventually and to show how much the company values him, Cody got a new bus around Thanksgiving. The new bus has led to some to believe that he already signed the new deal. However, it has not been finalized as of yet.
Getting Cody to extend his deal would be a huge deal since he’s one of the top names in the company and he sells a ton of merchandise and he’s a ratings mover. In the coming months, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre’s deals are coming due. One has to assume that they are likely to sign new deals at some point.
