Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr. took place at the AEW WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event from Seattle, WA at Climate Pledge Arena.
It was a slow paced match in the early going. Sabre worked over the right hand of Bryan and started to egg him on. Danielson with a series of kicks and elbows while in the corner. They traded submissions. The fans were invested in the bout with them getting a standing ovation at one point. Sabre continued to manipulate the fingers of Danielson. Bryan put him in a heel lock and they traded slaps then kicks. Sabre with a powerslam into an arm submission, but Bryan got to the bottom rope. Bryan followed up with kicks to the chest and head of Sabre. Bryan with a running knee strike for the win.
