NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Trick Williams with Dragon Lee as the special guest referee was booked at this year’s WWE NXT No Mercy 2023 premium live event from the Mechanic Banks Arena in Bakersfield, CA.
Mysterio got the early advantage in the bout. There was a referee bump as Trick made his comeback and Trick had a spot where he had the match won, but the referee wasn’t in position to count it in time. Trick with a face plant then caught him with a head kick for 2. Mysterio knocked the referee down and then clotheslined Trick to the floor and sent him into the ring post. Mysterio missed a frog splash and Trick had the count with no referee. Trick avoided a title shot and hit him with a running kick for the win.
Winner: Trick Williams
