Days before WWE released Matt Riddle among other stars as part of mass talent cuts, he was in the headlines for an incident at JFK Airport on September 9 where he took to social media to accuse a Port Authority police officer of sexual assault. There is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
TMZ released footage that shows an apparent Riddle drunk at the airport while waiting on his flight. At one point, he grabbed a microphone and shouted at passengers.
Witness told the media outlet that the flight to Orlando was postponed several times and Riddle waited out the delay while enjoying some drinks. Riddle was becoming “incredibly obnoxious” throughout the delay … being “extremely loud and rude.”
Witnesses saw Riddle yelling and asking when the flight would take off while walking around before going to the front desk and getting the mic. Riddle can be seen with a drink in his hand.
Everyone but Riddle got on the flight as he wasn’t allowed to board because of his condition. Riddle became upset, with one witness recalling him asking, “So are you telling me I’m not going home today?”
The cops were called about a “disorderly person,” and Riddle met with them and apologized for his actions. No police report was filed, with Riddle being let go.
