Former AEW Champion Hasn’t Wrestled A Singles Match in Over a Year

AEW has a loaded roster across Dynamite, Rampage and Collision in addition to Collision. That also means a lot of television time with several different titles for the men and women on the roster, whether singles, tag team or trios titles.

Following his departure from WWE after working there from 2017-2021 as Aleister Black, Malakai Black made his AEW debut in 2021 by attacking Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson.

He then formed a tag team with Brody King, forming a tag team called the Kings of the Black Throne, before bringing in Buddy Matthews as House of Black, where they compete in the trios division.

This past March at Revolution, they beat The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) to become the AEW World Trios Champions. They would later drop the titles to The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn at All In.

All Elite Facts noted on Twitter that Black has not competed in a singles match in AEW in 440 days, as Black’s last singles match was against Penta Oscuro in June 2022. He holds a 14-2 record in tag team action this year.
