WWE presented this year’s Payback premium live event on Saturday at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. PA that was headlined by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins retaining his title over Shinsuke Nakamura.
Post-match, Nakamura attacked Rollins, indicating that this feud is continuing heading into next month’s Fastlane PLE.
Other notable things on this show included LA Knight going over The Miz with John Cena as the special guest referee, Becky Lynch finishing her feud with Trish Stratus in a steel cage match, and Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn dropping the Undisputed Tag Team Championships to Finn Balor & Damian Priest in a Street Fight. Cody Rhodes also announced Jey Uso is the newest member of the Raw roster.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that WWE Payback is the highest-grossing WWE event in the history of Pittsburgh based on internal reports.
