There has been speculation that Ronda Rousey may be considering a UFC return after she wrapped up her most recent run with WWE for now.
The speculation first started when UFC fighter Chelsea Chandler recently told MMA Junkie that she heard Rousey was returning as a featherweight. At the time of that interview, it was refuted by MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani.
Rousey hasn’t fought suffering back-to-back losses. She was dethroned of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015 as Holm knocked her out with a head kick before she suffered a 48-second TKO loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December 2016.
Rousey lost to Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Following the bout, Rousey stated that she had no reason to stay in wrestling.
While speaking with Sports Illustrated, UFC President Dana White ruled out the possibility of a Rousey UFC return for UFC 300, which is set to take place next spring,
“There’s no shot. She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it,” says White. “Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”
