CM Punk Advised Jack Perry Against Using Real Glass During Backstage AEW Segment

There’s another CM Punk backstage story being reported but this one involves Punk and Jack Perry and the details being reported seem to favor Punk’s side of things.

Fightful Select reports that during one of the Canada AEW Collision tapings, Jack Perry was brought in to film a segment and there were words between Punk and Perry over something that Perry was said to be pushing.

Perry reportedly wanted to use real glass in a backstage segment, which is counter to what others in the company, including Punk, people in production, Tony Schiavone, doctors, and others wanted. This is according to Punk’s side of things and Punk reportedly sees the use of real glass as a problem, which is hard to argue with.

The feeling from Punk’s side was that using real glass is a safety hazard and he was asked to step in and calmly tell him that this is not what they do on Saturdays for Collision. Perry was also reportedly told that if he didn’t like it then Perry could stay on Wednesdays (Dynamite).

Perry’s side has not commented but Punk’s side believes that Perry threw a temper tantrum and several in the company were on Punk’s side in this situation. After the Punk-Perry exchange is when guidelines were implemented to make sure that the talent would get cleared before doing certain spots.
