Ronda Rousey Says She Has No Reason to Stay in the Wrestling Business

Ronda Rousey has broken her silence following her most recent WWE match and amidst reports that she is taking time off from the company.

Rousey lost to Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

They tried to recreate an MMA fight with strikes and clinch up against the ropes and submission holds before Shayna made her pass out in the rear-naked choke.

As previously reported, there’s no timeframe for her return to the company now that she is on hiatus. There were also creative issues between Rousey & Baszler and WWE.

Rousey took to Instagram to note that she has no reason to stay in WWE, confirming reports of her hiatus. She wrote:

@qosbaszler you were the reason I got into this business… Now I got no reason to stay.”

Rousey returned for her second WWE run in January 2022, where she won the Women’s Royal Rumble match before holding the SmackDown Women’s Title a few times. She also had a run as a Women’s Tag Team Champion with Baszler.
