WWE SummerSlam Results: Seth Rollins Keeps World Title, Judgment Day Tension Continues to Build

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor took place at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

Balor jumped Rollins from behind before the bell sounded. Balor took over and slowed down the action while targeting the shoulder of Rollins. Rollins fought back moments later with a series of outside dives. They brawled to the floor with Balor hitting a powerbomb to Rollins in the corner to the barricade. Back in the ring, Balor with a sling blade, but Seth caught him with a superkick. Balor with a neck breaker for 2 then right into the armbar. Rollins with the buckle bomb then a frog splash for 2. Rollins with a superplex, but Balor countered the falcon arrow with a roll up then a head kick. Balor missed the double foot stomp and Seth hit the pedigree for the near fall. Damian Priest walked out to the ring with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Priest caught Seth with a cheap shot and Balor hit the pedigree for 2. The rest of Judgment Day came out to the ring. Priest wanted Balor to use the briefcase to win, but Balor refused. Seth hit the stomp for a near fall after getting out of a roll up. There was more outside interference from Judgment Day until Seth took them out. Balor with a double foot stomp for 2. Balor started yelling at Priest while Priest threw the briefcase in the ring and Balor went to get it while Priest distracted the referee and Rollins hit the stomp to Balor for the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins
