WWE Hall of Famer and ECW Original Rob Van Dam showed up on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite to confront FTW Champion “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.
It was set up when former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn appeared in an in-ring segment with Perry. This happened a week after a segment where Perry mocked the wrestlers who helped pave the way for him. Lynn confronted him.
This week, Lynn refused to get into the ring with Perry because it would lead to “child abuse” and a doctor won’t clear him, so he called in a good friend who also worked in ECW. Out walked out RVD with his old ECW theme song “Walk” by Patera.
His wife, fellow former Impact Wrestling star Katie Forbes was with him at Dynamite but stayed backstage.
As previously reported, there had been talk of them doing the match at All In or All Out.
Pwinsider reports RVD is only slated for one bout against Perry. The match will happen on next week’s Dynamite.
It should be noted that WWE had been advertising RVD as part of their WrestleMania 40 weekend packages in Philadelphia next year.
