Original Plans for Bryan Danielson on This Week’s AEW Dynamite

Bryan Danielson suffered a broken arm in his win over Kazuchika Okada at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, this past Sunday night after making the top NJPW star tap out.

Danielson revealed the injury at the post-event presser, believing it would keep him out of action for 6-8 weeks. There is concern he may be out longer after Brie Bella said on Instagram Stories earlier this week that Danielson’s injury is worse than they thought.

As previously reported on Thursday, Danielson’s injury has caused the promotion to make several adjustments creatively with plans for Danielson to wrestle more on television following Forbidden Door.

Danielson was also supposed to be involved in the Blood and Guts match on July 19 between The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “There was talk of a Danielson vs. Ishii singles match (which was to happen this week but Jon Moxley took his place).”

We wish Danielson a speedy recovery.
