Former WWE Stars to Team Up for the First Time Ever

There is set to be a first-time-ever tag team that will be made up of two former WWE stars in Japan later this summer.

KAIRI (formerly known as Kairi Sane) signed with WWE in 2017 and started in NXT, winning the NXT Women’s Title in 2019 before being called up to the main roster. She was paired with Asuka as a tag team who was known as the Kabuki Warriors. They held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles once. KAIRI returned to Japan in July 2020 and worked for WWE as an ambassador. Her contract expired in February in 2022, and went to STARDOM where she later became the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion in NJPW.

Sareee (Sarray) joined WWE in February 2020 after finding success in Japan. She departed from WWE in March after not being used on NXT television for several months.
