CM Punk Says He Tried to Reach Out to Kenny Omega and Young Bucks, He Has Apologized to Tony Khan for AEW Media Scrum

Marc Raimondi’s interview for ESPN is out now. You can read it by clicking here.

The comments from Hangman Adam Page towards Punk last year on an episode of AEW Dynamite were covered. The comments were made by Page because he was under the impression that Punk was the reason for Cabana’s absence.

Punk told ESPN that he “never” asked Khan to take Cabana’s job. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks declined to comment when ESPN reached out to them via their agent Barry Bloom.

Punk on his match with Page at Double or Nothing: “And I proceed to have what I think is a garbage match because I’m trying to protect myself on stuff instead of actually just working and trying to put on the best performance I can,”

“I’m keeping an eye out. He chopped me in the mouth one time, and I’m just like, ‘OK, did you do that on purpose?’ You chip my tooth, and I’m like, ‘All right, should I give him a receipt?’ It changes the dynamic. It poisoned everything for me, and it made it all really, really ugly, and that was what set all of this off, and here we are over a year later and ain’t s— been done about it.”

Punk revealed during the interview that he apologized to Tony Khan for what happened at the All Out media scrum and that his relationship with Khan is “great.”

In regards to the fight after the scrum, Punk could not say much because legally he can’t but he didn’t “think what happened was a big deal…” and because he’s been out with the triceps injury for so long that things have been “exacerbated” by people “spreading lies” about the incident.

Punk revealed that he has tried unsuccessfully to talk to Omega and The Bucks since the incident but lawyers have sent him messages saying not to contact them and he is “unclear whether those responses came at the request of legal representatives of Omega and the Jacksons or a third party.”

Punk also said that there were no serious thoughts about retiring after the incident. Click here for the full article/interview.
