During the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 through 2021, WWE released a lot of talent, including main roster and NXT stars, as the company blamed budget cuts for releasing these wrestlers even though the company has never been more profitable.
Tyler Breeze was a victim of those cuts, but after nearly two years away from the ring, he’s getting ready to lace up his boots again.
While with WWE from 2010 through 2021, Breeze was mostly used as a comedy character despite his in-ring skills. He was a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Fandango.
The former WWE star is slated to work the Prestige Wrestling Roseland 6 show on September 1st in Portland, Oregon.
In a tweet, the promotion noted that he is now being billed as ‘BREEZE.’ This will be his promotional debut. His last match happened on the June 16, 2021, edition of NXT when he teamed with Fandango to beat Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel)
Since his WWE departure, Breeze has been running the Flatbacks Wrestling School in Florida with Shawn Spears.
