Young Rock Not Listed on NBC’s Fall Schedule

There are currently three series that air on NBC that are on the bubble of not being renewed, including the “Young Rock” series, which is about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s life.

Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa, and John Tui star in the series. The series features actors portraying his parents, Rocky Johnson and Ata Maivia, his grandparents, Roman Reigns, other family members and several wrestlers.

The second season covered his journey into becoming a wrestler and joining WWE, while the third season covered the rise of his WWE career.

Johnson, Nahnatchka Khan (WWE’s Nick Khan’s sister), Jeff Chiang, Dany Garcia, Jennifer Carreras, Hiram Garcia, and Brian Gewirtz serve as executive producers. The show is produced by Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions, and Fierce Baby Productions.

The third season premiered in November 2022 with 13 episodes that ended in February, with no word on whether the show would be renewed for a fourth season. It originally aired on Thursday nights before being shifted to Friday nights for its third season, leading to a further decline in TV ratings.

The network recently released its schedule, which ranges from fall and midseason, with American Auto, Grand Crew, and Young Rock not listed. NBC said “decisions are yet to be made” on the three shows. However, it’s not a good sign the show hasn’t been renewed with the network planning that far in advance with other shows.
