Former WWE star Carlito made his surprise return last night at Backlash in Puerto Rico. His return was a well-kept secret because nothing leaked before the show but it’s also easier to keep his return a surprise since San Juan is his hometown and they didn’t have to fly him in.
Carlito appeared during the Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest match to help even the odds when the rest of The Judgment Day got involved. The surprises did not stop there because Savio Vega also went out to help the babyfaces and he enlisted the LWO to help him out.
Carlito was talked about for a return in 2021 after he made a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble that year. He has reportedly turned down offers before to work full-time for a national promotion but it looks like he may have had a change of heart and seems open.
Just a few days before Backlash, Carlito told Metro.co.uk, that he’s open to a good offer. He said, “Yeah, I’m open to whatever, any good offer from anywhere, it doesn’t matter. Thing is, nobody calls me so I don’t sit by the phone either. If something comes up, great, if not I keep doing what I’m doing.”
At 44 years old, Carlito appears to be in the best shape of his life. He would also be a great person to have backstage to help younger talent. If a WWE deal hasn’t been offered yet, it looks like there’s a better chance this time around that he would be willing to come back full-time either as a wrestler or working backstage.
