Tonight’s Firm Deletion Match on AEW Rampage Will Include ‘Pro Wrestling and Violence’ + Surprises

On his latest podcast, Matt Hardy talked about tonight’s Firm Deletion match that airs at 6:30 pm Eastern during AEW Rampage:

“This has been a really long rivalry that has been going on between myself and Ethan Page. I think we are the core of it, we’re the nucleus of it, but it’s basically between the Hardy Party and The Firm and that’s what it comes down to at the end of the day. So yes, I am here, and Friday, we are ready for the Great War as Broken Matt would say. Friday is going to be a big day and we’re very excited about this airing on AEW Rampage.”

“I feel like This Firm Deletion is going to be a little different than any of the other Deletion matches that have taken place on the Hardy compound. I think we have walked a very fine line with this thing that’s going to be airing tonight. Originally it was promoted as being at 5:30, but I think now Rampage is on at 6:30 because it has changed time slots because of the playoffs. So I think we’re going to be walking a very fine line where we’re still going to give you the classic moments and entertainment of a Hardy Compound Deletion match, but we are also definitely going to fulfill the taste of pro wrestling and violence and some amazing athleticism within the match as well. We have eight insane athletes. We have some surprise cameos. I’m going to tell you House Hardy is going to be lurking in the scenes and they would love nothing more than to get their hands on Stokely Hathaway, especially as he’s been talking so much trash about the kids and about my wife and about Senior Benjamin all of House Hardy. So I’m telling you Stokely, watch your back when you’re on the Hardy Compound.”

On AEW running Wembley Stadium:

“I felt pretty confident that we could expect 50,000 or so when it was all said and done and it might surpass that quite a bit. I’m not sure, but the 43,000 mark in 36 hours, if I’m not mistaken is what T.K. said, is really impressive. I think that really shows AEW’s power as a brand across the globe. I know people are going to be making the hike from all around Europe to come over there. I saw people from Germany today, who were coming from Ireland, from Scotland, obviously. I saw a couple of people from Italy that were heading there. It’s gonna be really, really cool to be at All Out and it’s definitely going to be the biggest house, the biggest attendance ever in the history of AEW.”
