In recent weeks, there has been a lot of speculation among fans regarding a potential reunion of Edge and Christian inside the squared circle. Despite being in different promotions, they’ve stayed close friends after decades of friendship.
Christian jumped to AEW in 2021 after being medically cleared that same year and worked the 30-man Royal Rumble match in WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer signed a three-year deal with WWE for $3 million per year in early 2020, and he has been working a part-time schedule ever since.
There was talk of Christian wanting to do one more tag team match or run with Edge in WWE. It depends on Christian’s contract status with AEW.
WWE higher-ups are not expecting Edge to leave WWE for AEW as he has publicly talked about wanting to retire sooner rather than later from the wrestling business for a second time.
