NXT star being considered for main roster move during WWE Draft

Historically, there would be NXT call-ups to the main roster, with talent being put on Raw or SmackDown after WrestleMania.

That didn’t happen this year, although there are plenty of names on the short list of being considered for the main roster, including Tyler Bate.

After joining WWE in 2016, Bate was assigned to the NXT UK brand, where he was the winner of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, later becoming the inaugural United Kingdom Champion.

Around the time that the NXT UK brand was shut down, Bate was moved to the NXT brand in the United States. He’s considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the company.

The WRKD Wrestling Twitter account notes that after his recent Main Event match with Dolph Ziggler, Bate has been mentioned within the company for a call-up in this year’s Draft that kicks off next week.

“After a well received match on Main Event against Dolph Ziggler, NXT’s Tyler Bate has been mentioned internally as a potential call up during the upcoming WWE draft.”
