CM Punk’s backstage issues in AEW have not been settled at all

CM Punk’s return to AEW will be met with a mixed reaction among talent in the promotion as some wrestlers don’t want him back, while others have been supporters of him and publicly spoken highly of him as a friend.

If not already cleared, Punk is expected to be medically cleared any day after being injured in the All Out main event with a torn triceps that resulted in him getting surgery.

Punk doesn’t just have problems with The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks), but he also has heat with Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, Colt Cabana, and Chris Jericho. Recent reports note Punk is willing to solve problems with Jericho and The Elite.

As previously reported, Punk wants to come back, and now there are tentative plans in place for it to happen this summer. For more on when he’s expected to return, click here.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the issues between talent and Punk hadn’t been resolved ahead of his return.

Meltzer wrote, “A Punk return is largely expected. It’s a tenuous situation because the dressing room issues involving him have not been settled at all at press time.”
