The first-ever Pitch Black match took place at the WWE Royal Rumble between Bray Wyatt and LA Knight.
The blacklights were turned on, Wyatt had neon paint on, and Knight had neon ring attire. The ropes were neon as well. Wyatt attacked him right away and they brawled to the floor where Wyatt clotheslined him over the barricade. Knight tackled Wyatt off the steel steps to crash through the announce table. Knight went for his finisher, but Wyatt sent him through the ropes to the floor. Knight hit him with a kendo stick before Wyatt hit Sister Abigail for the win.
Post-match, Wyatt put on some kind of mask and chased down Knight into the crowd. Wyatt put him on a platform before Uncle Howdy appeared from a platform positioned above them and he jumped onto Knight. Pyro went off that looked like a fire pit. There were three puppets from the Firefly Fun House that appeared looking over Knight and Howdy.
