Cease and desist letter sent to WWE for reaching out to contracted MLW talent for Raw 30

It was reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that MLW sources stated to him that they sent a cease and desist letter to WWE.

According to the story, WWE tried to contact some contracted MLW talent for the Raw 30th anniversary show. No names were given but since there were plans for the Bloodline Acknowledgement ceremony to include family members of The Bloodline, one would think that WWE may have been interested in getting someone from the Anoa’i/Fatu family. Lance Anoa’i works shows for MLW, for example.

Meltzer wrote, “MLW sources have said Court Bauer told the talent to have WWE reach out to them directly, and didn’t say he wouldn’t allow them to appear, just to go through him. They never did and the segment ended up being canceled for the reasons noted earlier. WWE didn’t respond to questions regarding the cease and desist or the claim.”

The Bloodline segment ended up being dropped because of Afa getting sick a few days before Raw.
