WWE NXT stars still waiting to hear if they will be used for the Royal Rumble

WWE is just a day away from holding this year’s Royal Rumble PLE from San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome.

Five matches are officially announced for the show, including the Royal Rumble matches for both the men and women.

Seven women are confirmed for their match, with Rhea Ripley, Candice LeRae, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Emma, Zelina Vega, and Shayna Baszler already declaring their entry in it.

16 stars have declared for the 30-Man Royal Rumble match, including GUNTHER, Austin Theory, Kofi Kingston, Ricochet, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Santos Escobar, Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, Omos, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, Karrion Kross, and Dominik Mysterio.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE is considering different names for the women’s Royal Rumble match, but as of mid-week, NXT talent “was not informed about any placement.”

Meltzer confirmed other reports that Ronda Rousey will not be in the Rumble as “WWE doesn’t want to marginalize her star power by being just someone in the match” who isn’t planned to be the focus or winner of the match.
