AEW’s Young Bucks had been originally scheduled to work NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

Several AEW stars are working the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4th.

Will Ospreay will defend the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title against Kenny Omega, while FTR will defend the IWGP Tag Team Titles against Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI.

While speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that The Young Bucks won’t be at ringside for the match between Omega and Ospreay.

He also revealed that Nick and Matt Jackson were originally slated to work the show, but plans changed. It’s unclear who they would’ve wrestled.

“I know The Young Bucks are not going to Japan. They were actually originally scheduled to be on the card, but plans changed. It’s just one of those things. Things changed. Yeah, they were originally on the card.”
