Thunder Rosa hasn’t been seen on AEW television in months as she was pulled from her scheduled Women’s Title defense at All Out against Toni Storm due to injury.
Storm was crowned the Interim AEW Women’s Champion in a fatal four way match at the show and reigned until losing the title to Jamie Hayter at AEW Full Gear.
The Dynamite after Full Gear saw an announcement that despite saying she would return “soon” back in November, Rosa was being stripped of the title due to the severity of her injury. Storm and Hayter’s reigns are considered in the AEW Women’s Championship lineage instead of interim reigns.
Pwinsider.com reports the former Women’s Champion was backstage at Wednesday’s Dynamite in her hometown of San Antonio. However, it doesn’t appear she will be returning to in-ring competition any time soon, as the report noted she’s still dealing with an ongoing back injury and isn’t likely to return until well after the New Year, possibly not until February or March.
This reported timeline aligns with past reports about her being out until February.
