Veteran NXT star expected to move up to WWE main roster soon

There is good news for fans still hoping to see Cameron Grimes on the WWE main roster.

As previously reported last month, Grimes was expected to be called up from NXT to the main roster once his feud with Joe Gacy wrapped up. That feud is over, and Grimes has disappeared from NXT television.

Grimes made his main roster debut by defeating Akira Tozawa on an October episode of WWE Main Event.

Fightful Select reports that as of this fall, Grimes was expected by most in NXT to be called up to the WWE main roster. It’s still unclear when it will happen, though.

After a career in Impact Wrestling and working on the independents, including PWG, the 29-year-old has been under WWE contract since 2019. He was the three-time X-Division and tag team champion of Impact Wrestling.

Grimes held the North American title once during his three years in WWE NXT, as well as the Million Dollar title for a brief period of time during a rivalry with LA Knight that involved Ted DiBiase.
