AEW star announces 2023 will be his last year as a wrestler

Dustin Rhodes is calling it a career as an active in-ring performer.

At the Blizzard Brawl event on Saturday night, the AEW star announced that 2023 will be his last year in wrestling.

He made his professional debut in September 1988. This past November, he revealed that he had about a year left on his AEW contract. Rhodes also serves as a coach in AEW.

His last AEW match happened on an episode of Rampage on August 26th where he unsuccessfully challenged Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Title.

He had multiple stints with WWE from 1995 to 2019, where he was best known for his Goldust gimmick. Throughout his pro wrestling career, he also worked for TNA Wrestling and WCW.

While in WCW, he won the World Tag Team Championship twice, the Six-Man Tag Team Championship once, and the United States Heavyweight Championship twice. He has won the WWE Intercontinental Championship three times, the Hardcore Championship nine times, the World Tag Team Championship once, and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice.
