AEW talent claims CM Punk is no longer with the promotion

AEW President Tony Khan has stayed quiet whenever asked about CM Punk, as no one can publicly talk about the All Out brawl between The Elite, CM Punk, and Ace Steel due to potential legal issues. Kenny Omega has gone on record, stating that fans should let it go.

The latest word was that Punk is still officially under contract with AEW after talks for a buyout of his contract had stalled due to negotiations over the length of a non-compete clause.

Ace Steel was released from the company, while the Bucks and Omega have since returned and are currently feuding with Death Triangle over the Trios Titles.

While speaking on Renee Paquette’s podcast, The Sessions, Stokely Hathaway may have confirmed that Punk is no longer with the company following uncertainty about his status.

“Everything that was supposed to happen with The Firm did not happen. Back at All Out, what happened immediately after the pay-per-view, that was a huge part of it. (The person) we were supposed to directly feud with is no longer in the company.

That was one thing I was looking forward to because I was hand-chosen for that role. I’m just going to say it. I don’t know the specifics about people choosing sides. I just know that CM Punk said, ‘Hey. I want to work with this guy’. That means a lot, regardless of what has happened.”
