WWE breaks a big Royal Rumble record

WWE is slated to hold the 2023 Royal Rumble event in San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome on January 28th and has broken a notable record for the event.

During the third quarter earnings call, WWE co-CEO Nick Khan noted that the show has a gross gate exceeding $4.6 million.

WWE announced today in a statement obtained by Pwinsider.com that the upcoming Royal Rumble event has broken the company’s record for the largest gate in the event’s 36-year history.

The record was broken over the weekend as the Royal Rumble has now surpassed a $5 million gate, which is more than the previous record from 2017. That was the last time WWE held the Royal Rumble at the venue.

WWE’s next premium live event, Survivor Series, takes place this Saturday, with the main event of The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, & Solo Sikoa) vs. Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland & Kevin Owens in a Men’s WarGames match.
