WWE had travel plans set for Billy Gunn last week

WWE attempted to get Billy Gunn on the October 10th edition of Monday Night Raw for the DX reunion segment with Triple H, Sean Waltman, Shawn Michaels, and Road Dogg.

As previously reported, there were “meaningful talks” between WWE and AEW about having Gunn appear on the show. AEW President Tony Khan wanted WWE to mention that Gunn works for AEW and he would let Gunn make the appearance.

WWE did this for Mickie James earlier this year for the Royal Rumble and mentioned she was the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion. She even had the title with her when she made the entrance.

However, WWE reportedly stalled when answering Khan and would not agree to the terms at the last minute.

Fightful Select reports WWE had gone as far as to prepare travel in Gunn’s name, thinking that having him appear was a real possibility. One of the solutions that WWE came up with was “a lower third graphic with an AEW logo, but WWE didn’t seem too keen on making that a reality.”
