Nixed plans for Liv Morgan on last week’s WWE SmackDown

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan was featured on last Friday’s episode of SmackDown as she challenged Ronda Rousey to an Extreme Rules match at the October 8 premium live event, Extreme Rules.

However, WWE also had other plans for Morgan on this show. Fightful Select reports, “Liv Morgan was originally listed internally for the Damage CTRL promo.”

That segment saw Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY get interrupted by Raquel Rodriguez before Bayley defeated Rodriguez in singles action. After the match, Kai and SKY attacked Rodriguez before Shotzi made the save.

Morgan won the title from Rousey when she cashed in her Money in the Bank contract at the MITB PPV event in July after Rousey had retained her title over Natalya.

Rousey later challenged for Morgan’s title at SummerSlam but was pinned while locking Morgan in the armbar.
