There was a rumor spreading on social media about Thunder Rosa allegedly requestion her release from AEW. The rumor is not true.
Bryan Alvarez confirmed that Rosa has not asked to be released. Rosa is currently taking time off after announcing that she’s dealing with a back injury. There have been conflicting stories on the reason she’s off TV but whatever is going on, she is still with AEW.
Rosa is the current AEW Women’s World Champion. At some point after she returns, the plan is for her to face the Interim AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm to unify both belts.
