Former WWE star may be returning tonight on Monday Night Raw

Tonight is the post-Clash of the Castle episode of WWE Monday Night Raw and they will start the build for Extreme Rules.

As of right now, the only match advertised for the show is Bobby Lashley defending his United States Championship against The Miz in a Steel Cage Match. This may be the blowoff match because Miz seems to be moving towards a feud with Dexter Lumis. It has been rumored that Lumis will eventually be joined by Indi Hartwell to kick off a Lumis/Hartwell vs. Miz/Maryse storyline.

Going into tonight, Miz says that he only lost last week’s match because of the distraction from Lumis and tonight he plans on winning the title from Lashley.

In addition to the Steel Cage Match, we may also see the return of a former Universal Champion.

Last week, Fightful reported that there were discussions about Braun Strowman returning to the company and PWInsider reported that he is scheduled to be at tonight’s Raw in Kansas City, MO. That does not confirm that he will actually appear on camera but it seems like he is back with the company or they wouldn’t have flown him in.

Strowman debuted on WWE’s main roster in 2015 as part of The Wyatt Family. Eventually, he was broken away from the group so he could be pushed as a singles wrestler where he would feud top stars such as Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, and others.

Last week, Triple H said the following about Braun Strowman during his interview with Ariel Helwani:

“We’ll see. He’s like a polarizing person a little bit in the business but for a guy his size and what he brings to the table, is an amazing athlete.” He also talked about the first time he met him at the Performance Center several years ago and he loved his larger-than-life personality. He added, “If this is what he wants to do at the highest of levels, then I would like nothing more than to give him another shot.”
