Former WWE Champion may be returning to the company

Braun Strowman could be the next star to make a return to WWE.

Since Triple H took over creative for the company, he has brought back several stars, including Karrion Kross, Dakota Kai, Hit Row, Dexter Lumis, and more.

Fightful Select reports that among names pitched or discussed for a WWE return include Strowman, who was released by WWE in June 2022.

Regarding a possible WWE return, it’s unclear whether “if or how far negotiations have been, or what the specific pitches were involving him.” It was added that people of influence in WWE would not confirm when the media outlet asked Strowman but wouldn’t deny it.

The former WWE Universal Champion had re-signed with WWE in 2019 for big money as this was when WWE was trying to sign talent to long-term contracts to prevent them from going to AEW.

Strowman got down to the last few months of his deal, but WWE reportedly played “hardball” during his negotiations.

Although several independent wrestlers have told Fightful that Strowman has rubbed them the wrong way, WWE sources “complimented Strowman for looking ‘ring ready’ physically, saying he looks better now than when he was in WWE.”

Since his WWE departure, Strowman has worked eight matches, mostly for the Control Your Narrative promotion.

Fightful also confirmed Andrew Zarian’s report that there is interest on WWE’s side in bringing back another former star.
