WWE Raw star is getting his first name back

It appears that another WWE star will be getting his full name back.

A few months ago, Vince McMahon made the decision to remove Theory’s first name. That was reflected on the company website and on live event line-ups.

However, it looks like he will be getting the “Austin” part of his name back because he is now being listed as Austin Theory on upcoming live event line-ups. As of this writing, he is still listed as Theory on the WWE roster page but it looks like the change is happening.

Theory was one the last in a long line of wrestlers to have their name shortened by Vince McMahon. Sometimes, McMahon had a reason and other reasons he would make the change simply because it sounded better to him.

The 25-year-old recently started feuding with the returning Johnny Gargano. Theory has been pushed as the next big star in WWE and even with McMahon no longer in charge, it is expected that his push will continue.

The name change for Theory could be a sign of what’s to come with other wrestlers. Riddle and Ciampa, for example, had their first names axed when McMahon was still running things.
