Matt Jackson was hurt in title match on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite

The Young Bucks defended the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a three-way match against Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks and Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

Lee and Swerve captured the titles. However, Matt Jackson suffered a stinger in the match.

While speaking on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted the injury occurred when Matt took a suplex.

“About three, four, five minutes into the match Matt Jackson gets a stinger. If you watch the match from that point…well, what happened…this is one of the things people are talking about because there are so many injuries, but dude I’m telling you 80% of these injuries are on things that nobody should ever get hurt doing. What he got hurt on was Keith Lee and Hobbs giving him a basic vertical suplex, and when he fell, you could see it immediately. He hit a** first then his head snapped back, and he was grabbing his neck. From that point forward, he was being super careful on his bumps.”

Dave Meltzer pointed out that Matt has dealt with neck problems for years due to his style.
