Bryan Danielson’s injury may be worse than initially thought

Bryan Danielson has now been out of action for over a month after suffering an injury that is believed to be a concussion, which is concerning to many due to his history with concussions.

The initial belief was that he would be out of action for one to two weeks. Danielson was supposed to wrestle Zack Sabre Jr. at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event but he wasn’t medically cleared and had to pulled from the show.

Danielson had to retire from wrestling in 2016 because he lied about how many concussions he’s had in his career and wasn’t cleared. In 2018, he was cleared to wrestle again.

During today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted he’s concerned with Danielson’s current status because has a history of head injuries.

“I’m very concerned with Danielson obviously because when you have the number of concussions he’s had, and he’s been out now for five weeks. You start worrying at five weeks of a concussion this may be a real bad situation. I know in real life and everything like that he’s fine, he can function, he can do everything, but as far as being cleared to wrestle, I don’t know anything. No-one knows. Getting cleared from a concussion can be any time. There’s no time frame, but the fact that it’s been this long is very concerning.”
