Bayley is just days away from being out of action for an entire year due to injury. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been the sidelines after suffering a torn ACL while training at the WWE Performance Center last July.
However, it appears that she is getting closer to returning, as, in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Bayley will be back “somewhat soon.”
The initial belief was Bayley would be out of action for nine months, which would’ve set up her return around WrestleMania 38, but she wasn’t brought back to television.
With SummerSlam taking place next month, she would be a worthy challenger for either Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair or SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. She could appear on either brand as she was not selected in the Draft last October.
Before her injury, Bayley was one of the top stars in the women’s division and helped carry the company during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was in a feud with Belair before suffering a torn ACL.
